Jocelyn is an accomplished marketing, branding, and public relations professional with more than 15 distinguished years of experience. Having founded Hoopla Marketing Now in 2013 following years of working for marketing and advertising agencies, Jocelyn has built the company into what is today regarded as the only cross-cultural agency in the South offering premier full-service public relations, marketing, and communications services.
Throughout her international travels, Jocelyn has amassed a formidable range of contacts within business and media that prove handy when marketing to a multicultural audience.
She's a graduate of Andrews University where she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and Public Relations and a Master of Science in Business Marketing from Walden University.
After earning her undergraduate degree she moved back home to Chicago to work at a prestigious commercial real estate company, where she developed the shared suite office concept and managed two commercial office and retail properties in downtown Chicago. Her ability to develop relationships and strategic business plans accelerated her career leading to an opportunity to manage the Sears Inc. Latino account, further sharpening her multicultural tactics and marketing skills.
In 2010 she relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee with her family and was offered the opportunity to work at the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, specifically, assisting with the economic and development campaign “Chattanooga CAN DO,” where she worked closely with local businesses and organizations to raise over $5 billion dollars.
She continued to pursue her passion in marketing and public relations, shifting from the Chamber to working for large brands like Little Debbie Snack Cakes where she managed a $26MM marketing budget. She also contributed to the revision of the Spanish version of the Little Debbie tagline, “Comparte Una Sonrisa” (“Unwrap A Smile”.)
In 2013, she took a big step in her career and launched Hoopla Public Relations now Hoopla Marketing Now. Also in 2013, Hoopla created the "I Heart Chatt" campaign, where all t-shirt proceeds benefited local nonprofits. She has worked with startups, small and large brands assisting them with different projects in developing successful marketing materials, digital marketing campaigns, media relations strategies, and brand management strategies.
Recently in 2019, she was selected to be part of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce's prestigious leadership program, Leadership Chattanooga, best class ever, class of 2020. She currently serves on the advisory board of the City of Chattanooga Office of Multicultural Affairs, The Women's Fund, Board Connector, American Advertising Federation, CEB now Gartner, and the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga Digital Marketing Certification Program.
